‘Destiny awaits’ Timothee Chalamet in the first trailer of Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune’.
Months after piquing fans’ interest with futuristic first look character stills, the makers dropped the first trailer on Thursday morning, and it didn’t disappoint.
Playing up on Timothee and Zendaya’s impeccable chemistry, the trailer starts off slow, but quickly quickens the pace with flashes of breath-taking visuals, multiple character introductions, epic battle scenes and some never-before-seen monsters. The film will follow Timothee as Paul Atreides, a gifted man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. It will be interesting to see if this mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey will see him unlock humanity’s greatest potential - conquer his fear and survive.
Set in the distant future, the 1965 cult classic novel follows Paul Atreides, whose family assumes control of the desert planet Arrakis, which is the only known location of the galaxy's most vital and mind-altering mineral called "spice". According to reports, it will be a two-part series.
The star-studded cast includes Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgard, Dave Bautista, David Dastmalchian, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa and Javier Bardem.
‘Dune’ is expected to release in theatres soon.
